In the wake and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey our furry friends need our help too. Many families had to leave in a hurry, some without their pets, and some not knowing where to go were forced to turn over their family pet to a shelter. Not just dogs and cats but livestock too.

Austin Pets Alive (only 5 minutes from the ViaGen office), since Saturday morning has taken in over 235 animals to their shelter. The SPCA of Texas received over 123 cats from the Corpus Christi area last week alone. In the coming days, even more animals will be arriving not only to Austin Pets Alive and the SPCA but other shelters in the area as well.
