Bode

Bode

My dog Bode was suddenly taken from us on Halloween of 2016, he was hit by a car and was only 2 years old. Although he was with us for only a short time, we lived a lifetime of happy memories.
Bode liked routines such as collecting his toys in a pile and greeting me when I got home from work. One of the routines we both loved was bedtime. He would lay on his big soft dog bed with his head on the edge like a pillow and wait for me to “tuck him in.” I would cover him to his chin with his bright blue blanket. He would then firmly chomp down on the end of it with his teeth to secure it. Sometimes, he was a bit too enthusiastic and it slipped off him but it signaled he was ready for bed. This became my ritual as well. I loved to look down and see him there, sleeping peacefully, snoring a little, with the blanket clenched in his teeth. This night time habit was one of the many things I miss about him. We both are looking forward to the day when we welcome his “twin” home!!
